In una linea temporale alternativa, nella quale l’assassinio di Kennedy è fallito e Internet non è mai stata inventata, la corsa spaziale è continuata, i programmi sovietici e americani si sono combinati nel tentativo di conquistare i vasti giacimenti minerali extraterrestri. I governi, cedendo le loro scoperte ai privati, hanno dato via libera alle multinazionali, che presto hanno stabilito colonie minerarie e di ricerca in tutto il sistema solare. La stazione M, appartenente a una di queste multinazionali, la RAMA Industries, è stata di recente stabilita su Titano, il maggior satellite di Saturno.
Un membro del team di ricerca delle RAMA Industries è misteriosamente scomparso. In quanto riservista della RAMA, viene inviato sulla superficie spazzata dai venti di Titano per investigare.
