Sword Coast Legends è un RPG basato sui Forgotten Realms di Dungeons & Dragons.

Il gioco è dotato di una componente narrativa profonda e la possibilità di giocare in singolo o multiplayer a quattro giocatori in cooperativa, modalità questa che prevede anche un ruolo da dungeon master per uno degli utenti impegnati. Il dungeon master agirà in maniera analoga a quanto accade con i giochi di ruolo classici su carta, con una serie di strumenti che garantiscono una gestione diretta dell’evoluzione delle partite costruendo la storia e le situazioni in maniera creativa.

5 razze utilizzabili e 6 classi per i personaggi completano il quadro, con il sistema di combattimento a turni che consente di mettere in pausa il gioco ed impartire i comandi come da tradizione.

La componente in single player prevede invece compagni di party e nemici gestiti dall’intelligenza artificiale.
